I calm my nerves

I calm my nerves.

My heart pumps away in my chest, yearning for meaning. I drench it with love. All the love I’ve ever known, all the love I currently know. My heart softens.

My muscles tense up, caught up with the stress of the day. My back and shoulders ache sharply, weighed down by the pressure exerted on it. The love spreads from my heart through my veins. My muscles soften.

My mind is afire, jumping from one thought to the next. Identifying potential enemies, dreaming of a world that does not exist, recounting recent embarrassments. I fall into a black hole of thoughts, most of which will never be recalled. I drench my mind with love. It softens.

No one can take away your love. That is the one commodity every one owns that can never be snatched.

I see awareness, in her entire majesty. A universe watching itself.
